Gail Riley has written this book based upon the 28 years of love and rewarding hardship with her beloved and extraordinarily talented husband, Tom Statzell.  On a visit to Colorado in 1978, they were captivated by the beautiful, rocky setting of Bear Creek and the blue, blue sky of the mountains.  Forsaking San Francisco, the couple started a new life in Colorado.  Both born and raised in Indiana and Purdue University graduates, the couples lasting career has been a composite of unbridled spending, creating and proudly transforming a modest roadside motel into an exquisite, award-winning haven for travelers.
